This is a Kerrang front cover music magazine. The genre of this music magazine is rock because the title "Kerrang" is placed at the top of the music magazine which makes it stand out by the way it instantly catches the audiences eye. It is a well known music industry. The target audience is aimed at both genders as the magazine refers to boy rock bands and a rock female artist. It is also aimed at teenagers who are into the genre rock as the magazine is highlighted by bright bold colours and big bold font. The main image on the front magazine cover is of a female rock artist. The female artist is a well known rock artist  which suggests the genre of the magazine which is rock. Also, the other images are of boy rock bands, however, they are small than the main image. This suggests that the magazine is targeted at teenage boys and teenage girls as the magazine shows female and male rock bands.

The image is framed in the centre of the magazine, which is also slightly on the right side of the magazine cover. This shows that the portrayal of the magazine which creates an edgy and uneasy effect highlighting the genre of rock music. The mise en scene such as the clothes the female rock artist is wearing is a bright yellow top that instantly stands out. This suggests that the music genre is relatively loud and bold. Also, the makeup the female rock artist is wearing is brightly coloured eyeliner which creates a dramatic and intense effect. The colours that have been used on the magazine front cover are bright yellow, black and white. This creates a sense that the magazine is aimed at teenagers because the bright bold colours attract teenagers more than adults. Also, the colours contribute to the mood of it being edgy, dramatic and vivid because they are harsh and bold colours that instantly catch the audiences eye. The images relate to the target audience because the main image is of a well known female rock artist which many teenagers girls admire. Also, the smaller images that are placed on the left hand side of the magazine are of boy rock bands. This suggests that the magazine is also aimed at teenage boys. Therefore, this suggests that the magazine is overall targeted at both genders who like the genre rock.

The content of the strapline that is placed at the bottom of the magazine cover relates to the target audience/genre because it is advertising other rock bands which the target audience might like and listen to. This will enable the target audience to buy the magazine because it has information and pages on bands that they like.

This is the Billboard front cover magazine. The genre of this music magazine is pop because the image is of a famous female artist who writes pop songs. The target audience is young teenagers who like pop music and older female fans who like the female singer, Miley Cyrus. This is shown by the way she is placed in the centre of the  magazine, which is also the selling point of the magazine. This suggests that the magazine is targeted at fans of Miley Cyrus, suggesting they also like pop music.
The image on the front cover is of a famous female pop artist and it relates to the music genre because she produces pop songs. The image is framed in the centre of the magazine which highlights how she is the selling point of the magazine. The mise en scene such as the clothes the female artist is wearing is leather gloves. This suggests that the magazine is aimed at older female fans of Miley Cyrus because of the way she is shown to be mature and sensual. The colours that have been used are black, purple and white. This shows that the magazine is aimed at older teenagers such as female and males.

The magazine title is called Billboard which relfects the target audience and the content of the magazine because. The straplines relate to the target audience because it is showing the other pop bands that the target audience could like which will be appearing inside the magazine. The typeface that has been used for the magazine title is bold and large. It shows that this is the name of the magazine and it allows the audience to know what it is called. However, the same font has been used. but it's a delicate formal font that has been used throughout the whole magazine cover. It has been placed in the middle of the front cover in large font stating "Miley Cyrus" suggesting that the female arists is the selling point of the magazine. The font is important for the magazine because it suggests the music genre and it allows the audience to know what might be inside the magazine.

This is the front cover for the Smash Hits magazine. The magazine contains a range of music genres. This is shown by the text that is at the top of the music magazine "Pop, RNB, Rock." Therefore, this music magazine is targeted at a range of people, who like a range of music genres. The target audience is teenage females. This is shown by the female singer who is main image on the front cover. She is Britany Spears a well known singer worldwide which many female teenagers admire.

The main image on ther front cover is of a famous female pop singer, Britany Spears. This relates to the target audience because it will appeal to teenage females as the artist is favourited by many female fans. The image also relates to the music genre of the magazine because Britany Spears is a pop singer and the magazine contains pop music topics inside. The image is framed in the centre of the magazine, which suggests that Britany Spears is the main topic in the magazine and she is the selling point ogf the magazine. The mise en scene such as the clothes Britany Spears is wearing is a girly and flowery outfit. This shows that the magazine is aimed at girls who are quite girly. Her makeup is also quite natural and therefore, suggests that it is aimed at teenage girls. The colours that have been used are pink, white and yellow. The pink suggests that it is aimed at females which will appeal to them. The white and yellow creates a lively and bright mood. 

The magazine is called "Smash Hits" his reflects the target audience and the content of the magazine because it suggests that the magazine will be about the singles and famous hits that have been released from various artists. The strapline on the left hand side of the magazine states "Robbie Williams, Sum 41 and Christina Millain." This relates to the audience and genre because it is showing a range of artists with a range of music genres. This relates to the target audience because it shows that it is targeting various people with a range of music genre tastes. A rhetorical question has been used on the front cover "Pop princess or drama queen?" This will enage the audience because it is asking them a question about the female singer.This will enable them to buy the magazine to find out more on the issue inside the magazine.  The typeface that has been used is a bold and big font which suggests that it is targets at younger teenagers as it will appeal to them. It is also bright pink which suggests its aimed at teenage girls.



Inside the Billboard magazine, this double page is inside. The famous female singer, Miley Cyrus, is used on the double page spread to highlight that she is the selling point of the magazine and it is based on her. The image of is spread across the double page, which is mainly showing Miley Cyrus. The background is of bland and dull walls, enabling Miley Cyrus to stand out as she is appeared to be the main focus of the image. This suggests that Miley Cyrus is a famous and admired person as she is the limelight in the image. She is wearing black leather leggings and high heels which also makes her stand out against the dull wall. This portrays her as a maturing teenage female which is also highlighted in the text "Girl, You'll be a woman soon."

The colours consist of pink, black and grey. The colour grey, enhances Miley Cyrus as it is a dull colour, allowing her to stand out against the background. The word "Girl" is in bright pink suggesting that she was a young girl because it then says "Woman" in black which inferres she is now turning into a mature young woman. The text in the right hand corner of the double page spread, indicates her album "Can't Be Tamed" which suggests that Miley Cyrus is growing up into a popular and mature woman because it states "Transitions from tween idol to Pop Star." This suggests that she is now becoming a more successful and popular artist in the music industry.

This double page spread is inside the Q magazine. The famous and well known female singer Lady Gaga is on one full page of the double page spread. She is shown to be the main topic of the double page spread because she is the only image. The image is a mid shot of the singer focusing on her which suggests that she is the main selling point of the magazine. The image focuses on Lady Gaga only which suggests she is in the spotlight and her music career is successful. The image is in black and white which creates a dramatic effect. This suggests that the female artist is theatrical which is also highlighted by her costume. Her costume is metal chains hanging around her neck, covering her upper body, which also shows the intensity of the image.

On the text, a bright red and large "L" is positioned to cover parts of the text, which suggests that the text is about Lady Gaga. It also implies that she is a large pop icon in the music industry because the "L" indicates her name, which infers that she is a major female  pop singer who is widespread across the UK and America implying she is famous and is renowned.

This contents page is apart of the Billboard magazine. The image is mainly focused on the one female singer. This suggests that she is the main topic of the magazine and the magazine has pages mainly on the female singer. However, there are also various other images on the contents page which suggests there are other music genres, relating and targeting other people who like the other genres. This also suggests that the magazine contains various music genres targeting numerous people.

The contents page includes page numbers of the different articles within the magazine. It also contains a singles chart which helps the target audience know what the genre of the magazine is and it also helps the audience know the latest singles in the chart. The text is is placed in the centre of the content page, therefore the layout is structured orderly and it allows the audience to see clearly what the content is inside the magazine. It also allows the audience to know the different singers the magazine will contain.
The colours used are blue, white and black which are the colours of the Billboard logo

This is the contents page for the Q magazine. The main image on the contents page is large and is placed in the centre, yet, towards the right hand side. The large image of the band suggests that the articles inside the magazine will be based on the band. This allows the target audience to know what is inside the magazine and what music genres are inside the magazine. There is also a smaller image of a singer at the bottom of the contents page. This suggests that the magazine will also have pages on the singer, however, it also implies that the singer is not as popular as the band in the image above because of the size of the image.

The text on the contents page is placed on the left hand side which is how the layout is usually placed on Q's content pages. The text shows the pages in the magazine and what topic will be on the pages. It also text that is larger to the rest of the other text on the page "OASIS SPECIAL!" This suggests that they are a large and famous band that are inside the magazine and it states the page numbers that they are featured on inside the magazine. This will enable the audience to know the specific bands that are featured in the magazine and what pages they are on.

The colours used on the content page are red, black and white which are also used on the front cover of the magazine. This enables a consistant layout of the magazine, making the audience aware of what the magazine might contain as it is a Q magazine.
